Compete to be the Region's Best Tomato Grower!

SOIL3 Premium Organic Humus Compost

The Homegrown Tomato Festival will crown two prizes for the Best Tomato Grower in the region.

  • "People's Choice #1" Tomato Grower
  • "Critic's Choice" #1 Tomato Grower

This year's backyard tomato grower competition is brought to you by SOIL3 Premium Organic Humus Compost! SOIL3 provided 7 bags of their premium compost to each competing grower!

Backyard Tomato Contest

We are accepting up to 35 backyard tomato growers to show off their best fruits! Each grower will bring 15 pounds of their best tomatoes (can have several varieties) to the festival. 10 pounds will be sliced by you to sample out to the audience and 5 pounds you will donate to the Tomato Sandwich booth which will be selling sandwiches made from all the backyard tomatoes. The proceeds from the sales of the sandwiches are donated to 100 Gardens and the Bulb Gallery, two local non-profits.
The audience will leave money in the jar at your booth if they like your tomatoes, and the grower with the most cash wins. All cash is donated to 100 Gardens and the winner will receive a trophy, crowning them "The 2017 #1 Backyard Tomato Grower!"
